Last week, a telegram chat administrated by the Gov. Ricardo Rosselló leaked with messages that included homophobic, misogynistic, and classist comments. In these messages, the safety and integrity of the Puerto Rican people were compromised.
DECOLONIZE PUERTO RICO ASAP!
Puerto Rico's government is a reflection of 100+ years of imperialism and the only path forward is a real process of self determination.

DEMANDS:
1. Rosselló must resign or be impeached. His replacement should immediately start auditing the debt, protecting services and pensions in the bankruptcy proceedings, and reject any further austerity.
2. All bankruptcy proceedings must be halted until the political conditions in Puerto Rico stabilize.
3. Corporations and individuals who profited from the crisis need to be investigated and those who broke the law should be prosecuted. The Fiscal Oversight and Management Board rules the island. The board should be held accountable for the actions it has taken to push austerity and privatization.
4. For Puerto Rico to recover we need to CANCEL THE DEBT and make sure the US provides the money necessary for the reconstruction and recovery of the island.
Puerto Rico General Strike Solidarity Vigil
In light of Ricardo Rosselló continued refusal to resign as Governor of Puerto Rico, the Los Angeles diaspora and allies are gathering for a VIGIL in solidarity with the Monday, July 22 Paro Nacionall/General Strike across the island demanding #RickyRenuncia!
We will be honoring the 4,645 lives lost in Hurricanes Irma and Maria with a display of shoes representing those who perished - many without official acknowledgement - due to the neglect of the Puerto Rican and US governments.

Beach Bombazo : Taller Bula
Taller Bula, Puerto Rican’s In Action and other solidarity groups are joining efforts for this special Bombazo in Long Beach!
As of 7/24, Gov. Ricardo Rosselló has resigned (effective Aug. 2nd) but our work in the diaspora has just begun. Join us to celebrate this HISTORIC MOMENT for Puerto Ricans all over the world with the way we know how, music, music AND MORE music, and to continue to organize/plan what’s next for our community.
