Smoke is a seriocomic, solo driven piece starring Ernie De Silva and rapper/poet Eternal Mind. The story finds our main character locked in a battle of epic proportions for control of his creative voice. On one side stands the ancient forces inherent to all humans, and on the other the influence of modern day pharmaceuticals. Who wins in the end? Directors Oshea Luja and Ann Noble cleverly craft Smoke's journey into a rollercoaster ride that is sometimes poignant, other times irreverent, always touching and most importantly...relevant.
About the Artist
A native of Bushwick projects in Brooklyn New York, early on it became obvious that Ernie De Silva's innate abilities for dramatic acting, guitar playing and stand-up comedy would find some perfect union and form a magical link which Smoke puts on full display.
Ernie’s Academic life has also been a range of successes. First, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. To build even further, he later added on a Master’s Degree in Acting from the University of Southern California’s Graduate Acting program in 2009.
